Start Your Engines!

SING a LITTLE LOUDER
I will give thanks to you, O LORD, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Psalm 108:3–4

Start Your Engines!

That phrase is usually associated with the greatest spectacle in racing- The Indianapolis 500. Millions will hear those words on Sunday, May 26 as the 33 cars are lined up ready to start the race. An afternoon of racing follows as the 500 miles are covered lap by lap by some under the yellow flags of caution and others quickly consumed under the green flag of go. Pit stops are strategically scheduled for the needed fuel and tire changes as well as other mechanical adjustments. The driver is in constant communication with his crew and spotters. A total of 200 laps are counted as a winner is determined.

During the school year we run 180 daily “laps”. Most are under the green flag, yet we do encounter days of caution and pit stops at times. Yet through each and every “lap” we have had the privilege and gift of prayer as God invites us to remain in constant communication with Him. We are blessed to read His
Word every day instructing and guiding us through each “lap.” Unlike the Indianapolis 500 where only one winner is crowned,
in faith we all cross the finish line as winners receiving the crown of life.

We rejoice in the “laps” completed and the remaining “laps” yet to be run. We ask the Lord to guide our final 16 “laps” as we consume the fuel as we run the race to its full completion and continue Singing a Little Louder as we cross the finish line!
